FAQ
-
The purpose of individual therapy is to help the client explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe, confidential environment to gain insight and self-awareness:
Identify patterns that may be problematic or unhealthy
Develop coping strategies and problem-solving skills
Work through trauma, grief, or difficult life transitions
Address mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc.
-
Group therapy involves one or more therapists working with several clients at the same time. It’s a powerful therapeutic approach that allows people to share experiences, gain insight, and support each other in a safe and confidential setting.
Typically consists of 5–12 participants
Sessions usually last 60–90 minutes
Groups can be general (for emotional support and interpersonal growth) or specific (focused on issues like depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, or anger management)
-
Virtual therapy is mental health counseling conducted over the internet using video calls, phone calls, or secure messaging platforms. It works much like traditional in-person therapy, but it takes place remotely, often from the comfort of your home. I do not offer Virtual therapy to children under 10 yrs. old.

A treatment plan is a detailed, personalized document that outlines a client’s goals for therapy and the steps that will be taken to achieve them. It serves as a roadmap for both the therapist and the client, guiding the course of treatment and tracking progress over time.
-
The first session usually consists of a conversation to acquaint you with the practices of counseling, which include confidentiality and its exceptions. It’s also a time to get to know you and your expectations for counseling. By the end of that first session, both therapist and the client should know what the goal(s) are for counseling. This becomes the basis for the Treatment Plan.
