Debra Hanson, Ed.S., LPC, NCC

Hi! I’m Debra Hanson, a licensed professional counselor. I’m glad you stopped by to visit.

My work includes working with children and adults; helping individuals become the best version of themselves. Yes, I know that sounds cliche(ish), but it’s true. Whether I am working with a child, who has behavioral challenges, which prevents school success, or helping an adult, who struggles to manage anxiety or depression; the goal is to help my clients experience a sense of emotional, mental, physical, and social well-being.

Other areas of expertise are Anger Management, Communication Skills (relationships), Goal Setting, Grief and Loss, and Money Management.

My career in Education, began in the NYC School System (teacher). After relocating to Georgia, I worked as a teacher in Henry, Rockdale and Dekalb County schools. Experiencing the loss of a student to suicide, was the impetus for me obtaining a degree in School Counseling.

I also have an advanced degree in Guidance and Counseling. My counseling experience also includes working for a community agency, which provided services to adults, as well as children/adolescents and serving as a pastoral counselor for parishioners. In 2017, Rapha House was launched. My work isn’t limited to individual and family counseling.

I also facilitate workshops and trainings for small and large groups. I have presented at the Georgia School Counselors Conference, Pilgrim Assemblies Worldwide Regional Conference, and Fulton County-Atlanta Action Authority. The Mission of Rapha House is to empower individuals and families with the skills and belief symptoms needed to promote change and success.
