Rapha: What’s in the name?

In the Old Testament of the Bible, God was often referred to by His many attributes. Jehovah Rapha describes God as Healer (Exodus 15:26). God not only wants us to be spiritually whole, but He also wants us to be whole in our emotions. The mission of Rapha House Counseling, Coaching and Consulting is to be a partner in providing the healing and wholeness we all desire.

Ms. Hanson is the founder of Rapha House Counseling, Coaching and Consulting, in Conyers, GA. She has 20+ years’ experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her experience includes school counseling, as well as community and pastoral counseling. Her work focuses on helping individuals develop beliefs, behaviors, and mindsets, which contribute to success in life.

Ms. Hanson is passionate about her work with individuals who have experienced loss.  She is a Certified Grief Therapist. Her training allows her to work with individuals, families, and groups. She facilitates groups for specialized populations like “Teens Grieve Too” for teens and adolescents who have experienced a loss, as well as groups designed for adults. Ms. Hanson has conducted grief groups and seminars for churches and community organizations. “Grief counseling/therapy excites me because I enjoy seeing individuals emerge from their grief with an awareness that they possess the capacity for navigating the grief journey and are stronger than what they once believed. Grief offers us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves.” Ms. Hanson recently presented at the Licensed Professional Counselors of Georgia, state conference, on the topic of Disenfranchised Grief in Communities of Color.

Ms. Hanson received her master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Georgia (1999) and an Ed.S in Guidance and Counseling from Georgia State University (2002).
